I’m a beginner, do I need these accessories?

These accessories are designed for use by both beginner and experienced beekeepers, based on some of the most common requests from our beekeeping community. These tools will be useful from the first day you open your hive and see you through to becoming a seasoned beekeeper.

What can I use the caddy for?

The real question is what can’t you use the caddy for?! You can use it for just about everything from inspecting, harvesting, and carrying around any of the tools you might need around your apiary to gardening. We designed it to be versatile - and we can’t wait to see how you use yours.A unique aspect of being a Flow Beekeeper is the way you can quickly and efficiently harvest honey, and with little fuss. Everything you need from inspection to hive maintenance to harvesting can be done with ease, and the best thing about this caddy is that you can use it to carry home all that delicious honey.

Can I wear the tool roll with my belt?

Yes! We love this handy feature, the tool roll has 2 antique brass press studs so that it can be easily detached from the caddy. It can also be attached to the left or right hand side of the caddy, so it doesn’t matter if you’re left or right handed. Using the press studs, it can be clipped over a belt of your choice and worn around the waist. It does not come with a belt included, but is compatible with most belt types.

What can I put in my tool roll?

The tool roll is perfect to hold your phone, J-hive tool, log book with a marker or pencil, bee brush, and any small items that you might need when you return to your superhero duties after beekeeping, like a batarang or lightsaber – yes all beekeepers are superheroes. We love the way you can wear it to the front, back or side with handy items right at your fingertips. Or simply roll your tool roll up for a quick and easy carrying.

But what about my Flow Key?

Any Flow Beekeeper will tell you that you’ll become obsessed about visiting your bees and your hive. To make it easy to go from inspection to harvest, there are two handy places on the Flow Beekeeping Caddy that can be used to store your Flow Key: 1) through a seam in the back of the canvas tool roll, or 2) through the logo cutout on the caddy.

What is the caddy made from?

Lightweight powder-coated aluminium with an FSC certified beechwood timber handle. The colour of the caddy matches and is the same as the legs on the Flow Hive 2+

Does the smoker come in the caddy?

The Flow Smoker is sold separately, if you don’t already have one you can find it here. We’ve designed the smoker holder on the caddy to fit most conventional smokers, but if you’re unsure please get in touch with our support team.

Flow Beekeeping Caddy
The Flow Beekeeping Caddy is made from powder-coated aluminium with a FSC-certified beechwood timber handle.
If required, the caddy can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth.
Store in a cool dry place, out of the weather.

Canvas tool roll
The waxed cotton tool roll is made from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) cotton, features leather trims and has been wax-coated to provide a durable finish. Waxed cotton will develop a patina over time, resulting in a timeless vintage look.
If required, spot clean with a damp cloth or rag.
Hand soak with castile soap as needed.
Do not machine wash or dry clean.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not iron.
Store in a cool dry place, out of the weather.

Flow Bee Brush
Clean with warm water and a gentle detergent after contact with honey or propolis.
Wipe or spray with cleaning alcohol between hive inspections to reduce risk of contamination between hives.

After contact with honey or propolis, clean with hot soapy water and then dry.

Honey harvesting just got even easier

With everything you need for harvesting in one place, you won’t be rushing back inside for any forgotten bits and pieces.

Designed with space to stack a row of honey jars underneath the inner tray, and even a special holder for your Flow Key, all you’ll need to do is set up and let the jars fill!

Store your Flow Tubes and caps in the inner tray, and if it’s sticky with honey after the harvest, simply remove and clean.

Don’t forget to keep your log book on hand – there’s a special harvesting section where you can keep detailed notes.

Made from lightweight durable powder-coated aluminium with an FSC certified beechwood handle that stays cool in the sun, we think this caddy is the bee’s knees.
It comes embossed with a hexagonal motif and the Flow logo for added style points.

Detachable canvas tool roll

The tool roll attaches to the caddy using 2 press studs, and can be worn around the waist by simply attaching it to your belt.
Includes a handy slot for holding your Flow Key.

Caddy smoker holder

Allows you to easily carry your smoker while keeping room in the caddy – simply squeeze your smoker’s bellows to slot them snugly inside the holder. And the ergonomic design ensures there’s room for your gloved fingers while inserting or removing the smoker.
The holder is removable from the caddy with a sliding mechanism.

Flow Bee Brush

A good quality bee brush is a handy tool to have for gently sweeping the bees off frames during inspections. Our Flow Bee Brush has super soft bristles with fine nylon hairs to ensure that the bees are not caught in the brush or injured. The bristles are angled to allow you to get into hard-to-reach corners. We’ve made our bee brush the perfect size to cover a brood frame and also to fit inside the caddy.

Featuring an ergonomic FSC-certified beechwood handle with waterproof varnish, this tool is a must have in any apiary kit.
Clean with warm water and a gentle detergent after contact with honey or propolis.

Flow Beekeeping Log Book

Keeping records is a very useful way to monitor the health of your colony and improve your beekeeping skills over time. We’ve made it really easy to take notes efficiently with our Flow Beekeeping Log Book, specifically designed for use with a Flow Hive.

Pocket-sized and made from FSC-certified paper and card, it’s easy to fill in with a mini checklist for assessing your hive. Keep detailed records of brood inspections and track honey flow, pollen, colony population and temperament.

Also comes with a pencil.

Flow J-hive Tool

A must-have for every beekeeper's kit, this J-hive tool is made from strong high-quality stainless steel and is perfect for gently lifting brood frames, separating boxes, scraping propolis, or cleaning up burr comb. Lightweight, simple to use, and designed to fit into the pockets of our beekeeper's suit and mesh jacket.

It’s easy to keep clean from sticky propolis or beeswax by scrubbing in hot soapy water and then drying. Wipe with cleaning alcohol between hive inspections to reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between hives.

Excellent Caddy
