I'm new to beekeeping, but the quality of the Flow hive is far superior to the Amish made hive I purchased. I also love the little details in the stand and bottom board. My only complaint would be the screws with the square head. I hate them because they strip so easily. I used star head screws instead, but they are my go-to for every project.
We ordered our flow hive last year and upon inspection the pieces are solid and well cut. Unfortunately, my husband fell ill and we were not able to order bees last year. He has been in and out of the hospital and finally was able to get a much needed surgery for his condition in November 2024 and is doing so much better. But... this year we have ordered our nuc which we will pick up this May. Our family is looking forward to painting and decorating our Flow hive in the coming weeks once the weather breaks for us in Northern Minnesota. I am certain that this whole new Bee adventure will not only be fun but also FLOW in some much needed healing for us all. It has been a long time coming for our family to have bees, to be able to help the environment and have our own honey. I will be sure to check in later this summer to let you know how things progress.
From delivery to to assembly to support to the online beekeeping course, I’m very happy with my choice of hive (Flowhive2). Packaged with suits and accessories I feel I have the confidence to tackle the responsibility of managing my bees knowing I have a good product and good resources to draw on to do the job. Looking forward to next spring when I can harvest my first lot of golden goodness. Great product!
A Flow Hive Hybrid was our first Flow Hive and we love it. But the stand and adjustable legs on the Flow Hive 2 is a game changer. The built in Level Flow makes setting this hive correctly much easier as you can quickly glance to see if you’re level and at the decline that you need to be. Screws for each section of the Flow Hive 2 are in their own separate and labeled boxes and it makes it much easier to know what goes to what. The customer support team was extremely patient with us. I had a blonde moment and thought we were missing a part and the team helped me to work through that we really weren’t and everything was there. They were knowledgeable and great to work with.
My husband found it fairly easy to build. Now painting it. It looks a great home for the bees
