The Flow Super is not a complete hive and is designed to be added to an existing hive. You will need a brood box, base, queen excluder, inner cover and roof. If you are getting set-up for the first time, we recommend a complete Flow Hive as this comes with everything that you need.

It’s important to add a slope towards the rear of the hive (3º is optimal) for harvesting. This can be added to your existing base, or you can prop up the front of the hive at harvest time.

You will also need to consider how your roof fits over the Flow Super to allow access to the Flow key access cover. The Flow Hive roof has a modified cutout to allow easy access, however, using a flat roof that sits above the inner cover can also work.

Yes! Flow Hives are perfect for setting-up just about anywhere. 

You will need enough space to access the back of the hive for easy harvesting and your bees will require a clear space at the front of the hive for their flight path.
